Online Event Registration with CDM+ is Now Here!
Combine the versatility of the CDM+ Event Registration program and our new online registration Web Ministry Tool (WMT) with your church web site and let people to sign up for important events at your church with ease and accuracy. In the last issue of the CDM+ Connection we reported how you can use Event Registration to handle your VBS registrations. With the online WMT, parents can go to your website and sign up their children for VBS any time, day or night. Online registrations immediately create a registration entry in the CDM+ Event Registration program, complete with activities selected and optional payments. You can also direct the WMT to immediately send an email confirmation that the registration was received. Plus, a separate email notification can be sent to staff members as a “heads up” that new registrations have been received.
The first step in using the online Event Registration Tool is to set up your event in the CDM+ Event Registration program. The event record includes all of the basic information for the event and all of the details are entered as activities. When setting up the WMT for online registration for this event you have the option to show online only those activities that registrants need to fill in. The tool can also be set to allow multiple registrations—making it easy for a parent who needs to register more than one child for VBS. If money is to be collected for the event, you can accept secure online credit card payments (merchant account required). Online registrations do not have to be limited to individuals in your CDM+ database—perfect for neighborhood children coming to VBS!
Sometimes you hold events that are limited certain people, such as a Fall Elders Weekend. With the online registration tool you can limit registrations to a group in CDM+ Membership. Each elder creates a login (user name and password) tied to his or her individual record in CDM+ Membership simply by searching on e-mail addresses or names in CDM+. With login registration, not only is the registration entered in CDM+ but it’s also linked to that elder’s individual record. The WMT can create a web link that can be emailed to the elders for registration, eliminating the need to add that tool to your public web site.
